WEEK #21 Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Found a turtle...
Wow!  What a week!  Definitely going to be one of the most memorable weeks, and Christmases that I have ever had in my life.  Such a great week!  I ate so much this week!  They make Tamales for Christmas over here and I had like 15 this week.  We still had like 10 in the fridge left over, but we were sick of them so we gave them away to one of our investigators who didnt have a lot of food.

We are teaching this family!
So on Christmas Eve in the morning we helped out with arranging bags of Chicken and food to give to all the families in the ward that may not have had enough for a good Christmas dinner.  We then went out and passed them around and everyone for the most part were very greatful to receive these bags of food!  On Christmas Eve we had a little party at President Lopez house who is our Branch President and we played a good game of UNO, cooked up some good dinner like Chicken and China Rice and Bread and a good fruit salad!  Then we got to watch Frozen!  It was so good to be able to watch a movie even though it was in Spanish, but I could understand most of it!  It was so funny.  We then had some dang good Chocolate Pie with Oreo crust thanks to Elder Baird and opened our secret santa gifts from everyone in our district.  I got our district leader a little gift and wrote Tu Apestas which means like You Stink and then put some Calogne from Adidas in it for him!  It was nice to have a fun night to relax and eat lots of food and watch Frozen!  That night at our house we played a huge game of Scum or Presidents and waited til 12 o clock for all the fireworks to go off.  As soon as 12 o clock hit so many firecrackers and fireworks exploded and it was pretty cool to see and very loud!

On Christmas we woke up at 6:30 like normal and went to cook breakfast in our house, but realized that we didnt have any drinking water so we went back to sleep and wated for a Pulperia to open to go buy some water and eggnog!  Then we made some delicious cinammon pancakes and then went to a nice lady who owns a Pulperia and I got to talk to my family!  It was so great to be able to talk to them and see them over Skype!  Words cant describe just how great it was!  I love them so much and am so blessed to have such a great family!  They are the reason why I am out here today for sure!

This family takes good care of me!
We went back to the house and opened present and my family sent me a package and sure did spoil me!  It felt kind of like Christmas at home!  The rest of Christmas day we went around visiting people and ate some cake, had a nice little dinner with a family, and taught a couple of lessons!  It was really foggy and white in the morning so I guess we kinda had a white Christmas here in Honduras!  Hopefully next year we can have a mission White Christmas and baptize someone on Christams day!  Its crazy to think I already have 5 months in the mission.

Although it was a very simple and down to earth Christmas, it was so nice to be able to just think a lot about Christ.  How he was sent to be born in the most humblest of situations and how that little baby changed the world forever.  It was really cool to know that I represent Jesus Christ and am his disciple for these 2 short years.

Anyway gotta go, but I hope you all have a Happy New Years and have a lot of fun and enjoy spending times with your family and bringing in the new year.  Our new year is gonna be a lot like Christmas with tons of fireworks and firecrackers going off at 12!! Love you all!!
